Recent reviews of Asian Buns Three Ways – Bao, Steamed and Pan-Fried Bun Masterclass
5/5 from Samantha Dillow, attended Aug 2026: We both loved the buns 3 ways course. Simon and Hanna were very knowledgeable and entertaining and we learnt a lot not just about how to make the food but some of the history of the food and Tea. Looking forward to trying it at home, and already booked on another course with Simon and Hanna to learn to make noodles! Can’t wait
5/5 from Thomas Rendle, attended Aug 2026: We booked as a group of 6 and we all had an excellent time, and came away with some new skills - and some tasty Bao Buns. Both teachers were very helpful and friendly, and the class was accessible to a mixed cooking ability!
5/5 from Shiri, attended Jul 2026: We had a fantastic cooking class with Hanna! We learned how to make three different types of delicious buns, and along the way she shared so much interesting information about Chinese cuisine and cooking techniques. What really stood out was Hanna’s flexibility. She happily adapted the class and recipes to accommodate our dietary requirements without compromising the experience, which we really appreciated. The class was fun, informative, and hands-on. We left with new skills, tasty food, and a much better understanding of Chinese cooking. We would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for an authentic and enjoyable cooking class!
5/5 from Jas Bichmann, attended Jul 2026: I enjoyed Hanna & Simon's hospitality and cooking classes so much, I returned for another class today. Again, the class was perfectly and meticulouslY prepared and all work station for each student set up with the greatest of care. The group was small and Simon and Hanna made sure to help everyone to master pleading the dough correctly, with confidence and also a great portion of fun. We prepped 3 different bun styles. The timing of all steps was exceptionally good. Whilst a batch of one product was steaming away, we filled and pleaded and cooked the other one. When eating our finished dishes, nicely plated condiments to go with the bao were served. Simon's outgoing personality and Hanna's keen eye to anticipate even the slightest bit of trouble whilst handling the dough and helping you to improve your technique in the kindest of manners make them an unbeatable team. I strongly recommend their hands-on classes. Thanks for another memorable afternoon with you!

5/5 from Herin Hong, attended Jul 2025: It was such a beautiful experience from start to finish. Simon and Hanna were absolutely brilliant—warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. You could tell they were passionate not just about the food, but the entire culture behind it. They walked us through every detail of making traditional Chinese buns in three different styles, and it never felt overwhelming. The class was so well-paced and intuitive, and they made sure we were hands-on the whole time, which made it all the more fun. We particularly loved the bits where they explained the history of Chinese cuisine—it added such depth to what we were making, and gave the whole experience a lovely cultural richness. And the food! Oh my goodness. The buns were delicate, fluffy, and absolutely delicious—some of the best we’ve ever had. There was so much food, we had to take a box home with us (no complaints there!). It truly felt like a feast. They even took loads of lovely photos of us during the class, which meant a lot as we were celebrating our anniversary. It felt personal, joyful, and genuinely special. Highly recommend this to anyone curious about Chinese cooking or just looking for a lovely, hands-on afternoon. We left full of buns and even fuller of heart.

5/5 from Russell, attended Oct 2024: This was a wonderful couple of hours learning how to make different types of buns. We started with Hanna teaching us about the different ways the dough is prepared for the various buns and which ingredients are best. Then when making the buns she gave us clear instructions on how to do and it felt a great environment to learn. Towards the end Simon cooked one of the buns in front of us and told us about the history of Bao across multiple Asian cultures, which was very interesting. This was a present to from my partner and my cooking skills are not great and by the end of this session I was confident I could make something like this again. Hanna and Simon were both delightful, we plan on going back for more sessions with them and I would highly recommend this to others.
