This hands-on cooking experience is dedicated to one of China’s most beloved street foods — savory Chinese pancakes.

Your chef will guide you step by step through the techniques used by street vendors and home cooks alike. You’ll mix dough, prepare fillings, master the folding technique, and cook your pancakes until perfectly golden and crispy.
Best of all, you’ll enjoy your freshly made creations at the end of the class — or take them home to share.
Classes take place in a small, spacious, air-conditioned cooking studio, creating a relaxed and welcoming environment where everyone can cook comfortably.
Private sessions are often available during weekdays.

  • 5/5 from Marie Louise O, attended Jun 2026: We loved the class! It was relaxed and interesting. We learned so much. And the teaching was excellent, Thank you Hannah and Simon
  • 5/5 from Rachel Parks Szymborska, attended Feb 2024: Fantastic morning making Chinese pancakes with Hannah and Simon at their cookery school in Tufnell Park. They were an absolute delight and so knowledgeable on the history of food in China and more widely in south east Asia. The pancakes were absolutely delicious and we shall definitely return to try other classes - I especially want to make the crispy chilli, and it would be helpful to know how to make the dreaded Tofu tasty!
  • 5/5 from Richard Osman, attended Sep 2023: Big thanks to Hanna for the wonderful cooking class. It is a mind-opening class learning knife and culinary skills. Wonderful experiences to taste the Asian ingredients in the way we don't normally use them. Learnt to make the pancakes in Chinese, Japanese and Korean styles. All taste great. A small group class so we all have the full attention and practice. Every one had 1-to-1 time with the teaching. Definitely a good value class.
  • 5/5 from Hossam Mohammed, attended Jul 2023: This is a very interesting class. Before attending the class, we thought it is usual duck pancake. Simon and Hannah taught us lot more than that. The Chinese style pancakes are really big than any takeaways selling. With egg and spring onion, it is very delicious. We learnt a lot in this class and had wonderful time.
  • 5/5 from Carla Pagot, attended Jul 2023: We had a great time with Simon. He is very knowledgeable with the Asian food. The history behind, the involving routines and modern days trends, Simon can talk about them very thoroughly. He probably can write a book about it. The class is very fun and active. We made very nice egg pancakes, the Chinese style and okonomiyaki, the Japanese style. They are delicious. With the wide range of ingredients available in Simon's shop, we are spoiled for choices.

At Hanna and Simon's Foodie Kitchen, we believe cooking is more than following recipes — it is a craft, a culture, and a shared experience.
Founded in London with a passion for precision and authenticity, we specialise in immersive Asian culinary workshops that combine traditional knowledge with hands-on learning.
From sushi masterclasses to Chinese tea ceremonies and artisan dessert experiences, every class is designed to give you more than just a finished dish. We teach you the “why” behind the technique — so you leave with confidence, not just instructions.
Precision.
Our sushi classes focus on technique, structure and presentation.
We guide you to create beautifully shaped rolls with professional standards — even as a beginner.
Culture.
Our tea and Matcha workshops explore centuries of history and philosophy, helping you understand the story behind what you taste.
Creativity.
Our dessert workshops celebrate colour, texture and joy — turning simple ingredients into stunning, handcrafted treats.
We keep our classes small to ensure personal guidance and a relaxed atmosphere. Whether you’re joining for a date night, birthday, team event or simply to learn something new, you’ll be welcomed into a calm and thoughtfully designed space.
Many of our weekday sessions feel almost like private classes — giving you time to ask questions and refine your skills.
Our Philosophy
Craft. Culture. Confidence.
We believe learning should feel rewarding, not rushed.
Beautiful, not complicated.
Professional, yet welcoming.
When you leave our studio, we want you to feel proud of what you’ve created — and confident enough to recreate it at home.
