Jewellery Making Workshop - Introduction to Silversmithing

A one-day course introducing you to the creative art of jewellery making.You will be guided through the process of making a silver ring using traditional silversmithing techniques such as measuring, annealing, sawing, forging, soldering, filing, texturing, and polishing.You will also be guided in the safe and proper use of your jewellery-making tools which will help you practise confidently and independently after your workshop.Starting with a simple silver stacking ring, once you have got to grips with the main techniques, you will produce a ring of your design, having the freedom to experiment and play with ideas and details, allowing your creativity to shine. Whether you prefer a minimalist design or a more intricate style, the choice is yours. We encourage you to let your imagination run wild and create something truly unique.Hosted in a traditional flint barn workshop nestled amongst the South Downs in the beautiful Cuckmere Haven (close to Brighton, Lewes, Eastbourne & Hastings).The schedule for the day will include a delicious home-cooked lunch and a scenic walk along the Cuckmere River.

Participants must be 16 or older.Classes are limited to 8 participants.
