Hi! In case we haven't met before, I'm Jen and I run Sew Forest of Dean, teaching all things with needle and thread. I'm qualified in City and Guilds and a member of the Quilters' Guild, so you can rest assured your tuition is in safe hands. All workshops take place in my purpose built studio in the beautiful Forest of Dean, where our days are fuelled by tea and homemade cake.

I thoroughly enjoyed this workshop. The studio was a great workshop space. Jenny was lovely - very helpful and reassuring and so knowledgeable. She also made a great lemon drizzle cake. You do need to bring your own materials with you and Jenny has a partnership with a local supplier who has a range of gorgeous sets and can supply exactly what you need. We learnt how to piece and cut jelly roll strips accurately, how to make a binding out of strips and how to assemble individual blocks, and correct for errors. We were given advice on how to layout the finished pieces. Jenny then demonstrated how to layer quilt pieces, different quilting options and how to add a binding. I left inspired to get on and finish my wonky donkey and to research more quilting techniques for my next project.

Teacher's response

Hi Sophie, thank you so much for your lovely review! You all did a lovely job of your quilts and I can't wait to see them finished. I'm so glad you enjoyed the day and learnt lots of new techniques. Have fun finishing off your quilt and good luck with future quilting projects. Best wishes, Jennifer
