Ciao, we are Fabio and Agnes.

Born and raised in Venice, we inherited a deep passion for cooking from our mothers and nonnas. Every day, they would cook from scratch and make the most amazing meals out of the simplest ingredients.

Growing up, we both spent a lot of time in the kitchen with them, learning one traditional recipe after the other, and listening to stories of people and flavours from the lagoon, countryside, and mountains.

Growing up even more, we further developed our cooking skills and food knowledge by working in restaurants, catering companies, hotels and maritime agencies. Then at some point we met at a pub – a layered sandwich cooked by Agnes in the open kitchen grabbed Fabio’s attention. Since then, it’s been life and cooking together.

But ten years ago we moved to yet another island and yet another extraordinary town, London. And while we have grown to love our new home, our heart remains with Venice, the Veneto region and its incredible food, which brings back memories of home, family and friends, and a centuries-long fusion of cultures.

And we are here to tell you about the incredible flavours and forgotten stories of Venetian cuisine.

Besides the Venetian Kitchen Fabio also runs the baking blog the Italian baker, where he share baking recipes with an Italian twist and runs Brixton Windmill baking classes throughout the year.

In the kitchen, Agnes leads on recipe development and the creative vision behind it, on interior-designing welcoming spaces for the classes, and all things technical and business-related, making the Venetian kitchen one of the best cooking experiences in London.

My friend and I had a lovely day. Great venue and set up. The food was wonderful and well explained with a good bit of history to with it. Our hosts were wonderful, fun, inviting, great teachers and created a wonderful environment.

We had a wonderful day with Fabio and Agnes talking about Venetian food and culture and making some delicious dishes. These aren't overly complicated things to make, so you aren't going to be challenged by lots of process, but they do take care and attention. You will certainly be able (and want) to recreate them at home. The cichetti were interesting, the asparagus risotto scrummy and the Zabaione sublime.

Orgabisation of the day is really in point, Fabio is wonderfully passionate, and Agnes keeps the whole show on the road brilliantly with quiet and dry humour.

Such a wholesome experience! Fabio and Agnese made the environment so lovely and friendly that it was clear the whole group felt relaxed and really got the enjoy every minute. Every little detail was thought of and done with care - from the set up to the recipies to the goodie bags. The food we made was delicious, I’m still thinking about it now! I would 100% recommend this to everyone it was really amazing. Thank you for having us

A Christmas present for my mum because we share the love of cooking. An amazing day and Fabio and his partner were brilliant hosts/chefs. Super chilled and relaxed and took the time to work with all of us. Thoroughly recommend it to anyone who would like to learn how to cook Italian food in a fun, informal and friendly way.
