Tie Dye Workshop: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

Come and have a go at the must-try craft of the summer: tie-dye!

1 hour Class size 1 to 8     label £9 - £10 (£9 per Child, £10 per Adult)
Have you got a favourite clothing item that you cannot wear anymore because it has a stain or a bleach mark that just won't come out? Or a white top that is not shining as brightly as it used to?
Bring new life to those beloved items that still fit and flatter you by reviving them with tie-dye!
Tie-dye was popularised by the hippy movement of the 1970s and has remained a stylish staple ever since. Whether you choose a subtle colour palette or embrace the whole rainbow, there is a tie-dye that can suit you!
Each participant is encouraged to bring any cotton, linen, hemp or viscose/rayon item that they would like to revive with a creative colour application. Included with your ticket price is a cotton tote bag to tie-dye, perfect to use as a reusable shopping bag, beach bag or book bag.
If you're stuck for ideas of what to dye, you can also select one of the add-on options that will be provided for you in tie-dye ready condition.
Each session will last up to an hour and will (weather permitting!) take place in the lovely Yarden at Hazlehurst Studios.
All equipment and materials needed to tie-dye your items will be provided, and when you are finished you will take away your completed dyed items and instructions on how to make sure the dyed effect will last.
These sessions are sure to be a lot of fun, perfect for families or groups of friends to come and try out.

Your teacher

Hi, I’m Courtney, a potter and craftsperson based in Runcorn, Cheshire.
I have always been creative and had the “I could make that!” gene that has lead me to try a lot of different things!
I first started pottery in 2019 when I was struggling with my mental health. I have always had perfectionist tendencies so I wanted to try something completely new to me that would encourage me to embrace the messiness and imperfections of the work I would create; pottery was perfect!
I love teaching and sharing my knowledge about pottery painting and pottery with workshop attendees. I always endeavour to create a fun, accessible and welcoming atmosphere for everybody. I want people to feel comfortable as I know it can be nerve wracking trying new things or not knowing how to get started.
