Julie is is an experienced teacher and has been running classes for over 5 years covering wet clay building methods, throwing on the wheel and a wide range of glazing techniques. She is passionate about her pottery and loves the opportunity to share her enthusiasm and personality with everyone.

The idea for a community based pottery studio has come about through her passion for pottery and crafting, originating as a hobby but now evolving into a local business. She was fortunate to have the opportunity to purchase Halliford Village Pottery in 2017, which was an established pottery and ceramics studio at Grange Farm, Shepperton, although with limited sessions and customers. Since then she have invested in upgrading the facilities, services and opening times and after five years has now moved to her own premises. The studio has a wonderful, peaceful atmosphere and this creates a lovely environment for creativity and relaxation.

The class was a birthday present and I loved it. A thoroughly enjoyable experience. The class was very personal and I got the chance to throw several pots as well as working with a slab of clay at the table. The pot throwing was brilliant and so was the teacher Julie. She was engaging, professional and also very laid back which made me feel relaxed and at ease. I would definitely recommend the class to anyone with an interest in pottery. I am now thinking of going back for a different class as Julie does several different types. It was a pleasure to be taught by her.

Me and my friend came as a Christmas gift. The host was amazing, and she taught us and let us create our own creations! Because of this we feel so proud of our own products! We had the best time and I really recommend anyone going, it’s really worth the money! Thank you again for hosting us!

Julie was so very warm & welcoming we immediately felt at ease. I can’t say that we discovered any untapped talents, but we had an absolute blast resulting in fun, laughs & an eclectic set of tapas bowls.
Highly recommended, what a lovely afternoon with a bonus of something to show at the end of it.
The pottery experience was fun, but it’s Julie’s wit, wisdom & anecdotes that made it really special.
